LG viewty U990

Mah as mention in the last post, i choose LG as my phone in the end, it's a touchscreen phone and boy~ me really miss the keypad~ anyway i gotten to it a bit edi now so began to love the keyboard mode for sms, the keyboard mode however is not available when using internet, a bit of No good there which is why i said i don't enjoy the mobile internet that much on the phone. It's 3G phone yesh but don't be fooled by that small hole on the front that look just like the front camera, cos IT'S NOT. This is one of the idiot 3G phone that allow you to do the video calling but what good is it when u cannot see the other person face!! like that what's the point of 3G video calling!! Oh well, it need to be 3G since 3 network is 3G, u need it to get signal from the service provider, of cos sometime when the 3 network is not availalbe, the mobile will automatically connect u to other network but i think that one charge u differently. My $29cap i got $150 for normal calling and SMS + 200 free 3 to 3 calling minutes, the 200 free minute is what get me on 3, 80% of the people around me is using 3, it's just more worth it for me to be on 3. Anyway this post shud be about the phone not that 3 hehe~ I have yet figure out what's that little thing that look like camera for, i think the manual mention it's the light that shud be on when the phone is connect to mobile, indicate it's connected or sth like that.

It got music player, FM radio like my N70 and it also add in the voice record function which will be useless for me. The sound quality is not bad, the screen is 3 inch, a bit thick (size 104 x 54 x 15 mm, weight 112g) if compare to some other phone out there but my N70 is even thicker so not an issue for me. No game in there but it do support Java 2.0 game like other phone, have the document viewer thing, didn't try that, don't think i view document on phone but according to phone manual, it support TXT, PDF, DOC, PPT, XLS (i dunno what is this). It also have what it call T9 predictive text like all other phone, i never use predictive text, it never give me the word i want and only get in my way when i sms. The default ringtone that come along with the phone is alright but my N70 give me way more free one.

The internet is WAP2.0, GPRS class 12, EDGE, 3GHSDPA (3.6 Mb/s) whatever that mean to u, it's soso lah, the speed is same level with streamyx in some way haha dunno is it the problem of the phone or the provider. It got this Google package thing that bring u to gmail, blogger and goggle search, useless for me, got USB2.0, bluetooth 1.2, got 90mb internal memory and support 2gb micro SD, grr... i wana get another micro sd so can stuff mp3 in there and rely less on my mp3 player, my last mp3 die T_T

The battery standby time is 430-450 hours eh not good but my N70 also like that so i used to the idea of phone battery that don't really last. The camera is 5 megapixel with Schneider-Kreuznach lens with autofocus and smartlight, so far i don't really see how good it is lah, for me it's just like the N70 2 megapixel, i rule out sony phone i was considering because of the camera with no flash and the fact it don't have earphone, what use of walkman phone with no walkman function?? anyway i personally prefer Carl Zeiss lenses use by Nokia and Sony but oh well, i got my Sony camera ^_^, as you can see the camera is sort of stick out there with no protection, have to careful with it.... I leave all the wrapping, those thing stick on the new phone, there for now, protection mah, hope it will stay sticked there~ Oh the phone also got a stylus, u can hang it on the phone and let it dangling there but it look dunno, wait till i find a nice thing to hang together with it bah hahaha, u can use the stylus for the handwriting mode when sms but hmm that mode play play okay lah not very user freindly for me, cos sometime have to write the alphabeth in certain way for it to recognise, it just make the sms process slower~

Little side note unrelevant to this phone: My nokia 'snake skin' is peeling off!! got a tear near the front camera there and it got bigger when i wanna take my phone out, grr... i need a new 'clothes' for my nokia....
