Was just posting this for the sake of posting cos am bored and lazy~ wanna go for a movie but it's raining outside T_T i don't like to go out on rainy day esp Aussie rainy day. The annoying wind just make you life miserable in this sort of weather and after last Sunday experience (some of you would know what i mean, don't wanna write about it, am angry to just think about it) i don't feel like going out edi~ Trapped in the house~ this kinda weather, i just wanna sit at home and enjoy the coolness + sleep~
Anyway back to the topic, St. Patrick Day is well of cos celebrating one of the patron saint from Ireland so really it's more to the Catholic and Irish thing. I only celebrate St. Patrick once when i was staying at the boarding house in NZ. We are asked to wear green and serve with Green colour stuff, ie green color cookies, jelly and stuff, really i don't know why were we celebrating it anyway but oh well got nice food, who cares~ So did any of u just happen to wear green on this day?
Anyway, i found the answer of "Why wear green on St Patrick day"? According to Wiki, the wearing of the green mean to wear a Shamrock on one'c clothing. Again it's the Irish thing to show their loyalty to Roman Catholic faith. St. Patrick used the shamrock, a three-leaved plant, to explain the Holy Trinity to the pre-Christian Irish. It also mention some Protestants have wear orange on St. Patrick's Day as a mark of defiance. For further reading just click the link to go to Wiki site.
Since i mentioned it's more to Irish thing, (their national holiday, even throw parade for it), ironically, St. Patrick was not even born in Ireland. He's was born in Scotland. Got this pic of info from Yahoo, didn't particular go search it, it was there on the site when i wanna check email hehe~
